Welcome to WBA’s School Age program, a dynamic and collaborative learning environment for children in Kindergarten through 3rd Grade. We believe children are capable thinkers, problem-solvers, and creators who learn best when they are given meaningful questions to explore and opportunities to act on their ideas.
Our educators build learning experiences around children’s interests, questions, and developing understanding while ensuring they build strong academic foundations. Through inquiry, project-based learning, collaboration, and hands-on experiences, students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to approach complex problems, communicate their thinking, and become increasingly independent learners.
We work closely with families to understand each child’s strengths, interests, and goals and to support their growth as confident, capable, and resourceful learners.

Our goal is to develop confident, capable young citizens who ask meaningful questions, investigate and analyze, and act on their ideas. We believe learning is most powerful when children understand why they are learning something and how they can use it.
Rather than teaching subjects in isolation, our integrated approach connects Literacy, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Technology, Social Studies, and the Arts through projects and investigations. Students develop foundational academic skills and learn to apply them to real questions and real-world problems.
Students build strong mathematical foundations through exploration, problem-solving, and real-world application. They develop skills in numbers, operations, geometry, measurement, patterns, data analysis, and mathematical reasoning while explaining their thinking, exploring multiple strategies, and applying math to meaningful problems.
Science begins with curiosity and questions about the world around us. Students investigate biology, physics, chemistry, earth science, and environmental science through experimentation, observation, research, and documentation. They make predictions, analyze evidence, communicate findings, and revise their thinking as they learn.
Creativity is not limited to art—it is a way of thinking. Students are encouraged to generate ideas, experiment, take thoughtful risks, and approach problems from multiple perspectives. Through design thinking, visual arts, writing, building, and project work, students develop their imagination while learning to turn ideas into meaningful creations.
We view technology as a tool for creating, researching, communicating, designing, and solving problems—not passive entertainment. Students learn to use technology intentionally and responsibly through digital research, multimedia creation, coding, design, presentations, and other tools that support their ideas and investigations.
Language is essential for thinking, communicating, and connecting with others. Students develop reading, writing, speaking, listening, and research skills through literature, discussion, documentation, and authentic projects, including opportunities to explore Chinese language and culture, , expanding their ability to understand different perspectives.

Students apply academic knowledge through extended projects inspired by their questions, interests, and real-world challenges. They integrate mathematics, literacy, science, engineering, technology, and the arts as they research, design, build, test, and revise. Through these experiences, students learn to ask questions, make connections, learn from mistakes, and develop confidence in solving problems.
Music develops creativity, collaboration, listening, and self-expression. Students explore rhythm, melody, musical concepts, and performance while learning how music communicates ideas and emotions. The program builds a foundation for continued vocal and instrumental learning while encouraging students to be both creators and participants.
